Golden Disc Awards ke-36 telah sukses berlangsung pada 8 Januari di Gocheok Sky Dome di Seoul.
Pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya, Golden Disc Awards berlangsung selama dua hari, dibagi menurut divisi Album dan Digital Song. Tahun ini, seluruh upacara diadakan pada satu hari untuk mematuhi peraturan jarak sosial. Tidak ada penonton yang hadir dan pertunjukan sudah direkam sebelumnya.
Untuk tahun kelima berturut-turut, BTS memenangkan Album of the Year (Disc Daesang), sementara IU memenangkan Digital Song of the Year (Digital Daesang) untuk tahun kedua berturut-turut.
